Embark on an exhilarating two-day journey into the heart of nature with our Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze practice camp. This unforgettable experience offers approximately 6+ hours of purposeful activities each day, including tramping, camping, cooking, and navigation.
Our camp is designed to make you self-sufficient and proficient in outdoor navigation. Get ready to acquire new practical skills, unravel the secrets of the natural world, and embrace thrilling challenges in a safe and friendly environment. Our dedicated instructors, who prioritise your safety and well-being, are passionate outdoor educators.
NOTE: We are a Rotorua based company and run all of our trips from here. If you are looking from outside of Rotorua you will need to meet us at our meeting location on the day. We supply transport from here and back.
Day 1
Start with a quick gear check to ensure everyone has what they need, with a particular focus on essential safety items. Dive into hands-on navigation exercises in the great outdoors. Learn the art of estimating timeframes and apply them practically. Participate in route planning sessions, making collective decisions as a group to prepare for the next day’s adventure.
Day 2
Pack up and tidy your campsite before engaging in more navigation exercises and an invigorating hike. Bid farewell to your fellow adventurers and head back home with unforgettable memories.
Our camp locations are scattered throughout the Central North Island, handpicked closer to the camp date to ensure the safest and most suitable tracks based on weather and track conditions. Detailed information, such as meeting places and times, will be emailed a week before the camp. Typically, we start from Rotorua, our home base for this charitable endeavour.
