Silver Qualifying Adventurous Journey – Hauhungaroa Track

3 Days Pureora Forest Park

If you have already completed your training, this is a great option to complete your Adventurous Journey for your Silver Award for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award.

This 3-day trip will take you to the Bog Inn Hut and Waihaha Hut in the Pureora Forest Park. There will be approximately 7+ hours of purposeful activity each day (this will included tramping/camping/cooking).

Expect to learn plenty of new, practical skills, discover more about the natural world, and have fun in a safe, friendly – but challenging – environment. Our experienced instructors are passionate outdoor educators who have your safety and well-being at the top of their priorities.

Day 1
Gear check, Link Road to Bog Inn Hut, camp craft, debrief and route plan for the day ahead. The route takes us along the Hauhungaroa Track in the Pureora Forest Park which traverses the Hauhungaroa Range. Read more here.

Day 2
Bog Inn Hut to Waihaha Hut, debrief and route plan for the next day

Day 3
Waihaha Hut to Mangakahu Valley Road, debrief and travel back to Rotorua.
