Immerse yourself in the wilderness and embark on a thrilling 4-day journey that includes both the practice and qualifying trips for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze award. Our camp is carefully crafted to offer an unforgettable experience, filled with purposeful activities, outdoor navigation challenges, and unforgettable moments in nature.
During these action-packed days, you’ll spend approximately 6+ hours each day engaging in tramping, camping, cooking, and navigation. Our camp is designed to equip you with essential outdoor skills, fostering self-sufficiency and proficiency in navigating through the wilderness.
Our experienced instructors are passionate outdoor educators, ensuring your safety and well-being are always a top priority. They will guide you through hands-on navigation exercises, teaching you the art of estimating timeframes and effective route planning. Together, as a cohesive group, you’ll make collective decisions, preparing for the adventures that lie ahead.
Locations:
Our camp locations are carefully selected throughout the Central North Island, guaranteeing the safest and most suitable tracks based on prevailing weather and track conditions. A week before the camp, we’ll provide you with detailed information, including meeting places and times. Typically, we start from our Rotorua home base, where our charitable endeavours begin.
NOTE: We are Rotorua based and offer transport from here so you will need to find your own way here is looking from outside Rotorua.
